What are antiwrinkle treatments?
These are common cosmetic procedures that temporarily relax targeted muscles to help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. Anti-wrinkle injections are a prescription that block specific nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. When injected by a trained and qualified professional, this procedure is considered safe and effective. We use a variety of brands (products) that are all Health Canada approved.
Are consultations required?
A consultation is always required before a first treatment can occur.
What kind of neuromodulators do you use?
The products administered in these types of treatments are prescription drugs. Advertising prescription drugs is regulated in Canada under the Food and Drugs Act and Food and Drug Regulations. Due to Health Canada regulations, we cannot share on our website the names of the neuromodulators we use. Please contact us directly for more information.
How long do treatments take?
Treatments are quick, taking 15 to 30 minutes. Treatment time does depend on the area(s) being treated. Full appointments are often 45 minutes, and a consultation is required prior to any first treatment.
When will I start to see results?
Clients may begin to see results as early as day 3, with full results present on day 14.
While neuromodulator injections can deliver noticeable improvements, results may vary from person to person and treatments may not be suitable for all clients.
How long do results last?
Results from anti-wrinkle injections can last 3 to 4 months. If treatment is for hyperhidrosis, patients often experience relief from excessive sweating for up to 6 months.
How often can I get neuromodulator injections?
Re-treatment can be done every 12 weeks and not any earlier to ensure efficacy.
What is the recovery time?
There is no recovery time or downtime. Most clients return to work immediately after treatment. Minor redness and bruising may be present, but it usually resolves within a few hours.
Do injections hurt?
As most injections are superficial, clients describe them as a quick pinch.
Will I have muscle paralysis?
It is a block in signal rather than paralysis and it is not permanent. If you choose to stop receiving treatment, the muscle will slowly re-gain strength and return to its pre-treatment state.
Can anyone receive anti-wrinkle treatments?
During your consultation we will go over all the contraindications and determine if this is safe and right for you.
