What are PRF injections and PRP injections?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) are types of cosmetic injections that use a person’s own by-products (blood/plasma) to stimulate their body’s production of collagen, which helps to improve the skin’s overall appearance. A small amount of blood is extracted from the client and is then spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. The result is 100% organic and medicine-free plasma that is then injected back into targeted areas of skin. The preparation process for PRP and PRF are slightly different, so while both stimulate collagen and elastin production naturally, PRF contains fibrin, which is a powerful protein that helps support tissue repair and regeneration.
Do treatments hurt?
While pain & discomfort are minimal, this varies from person to person and some areas may be more uncomfortable than other areas. For client comfort, we do offer topical and local anaesthetic.
Are consultations required?
A consultation is always required before any treatment can occur.
How long do treatments take?
Treatments are quick, taking 15 to 30 minutes. Appointments are often 45 minutes, and a consultation is required prior to any treatment.
When will I start to see results?
Results can typically be seen within a few weeks of treatment. Improvements continue over several months. For PRP facials specifically, clients experience results within the next day.
How long do results last?
Results vary with each client. Longevity is related to the client and the skin or hair concern that is being addressed. Pease discuss this with your injector to have a better understanding of the longevity of your treatment.
What is the recovery time?
There is minimal downtime with our PRP procedures and PRF procedures.
Is PRF/PRP suitable for everyone?
Since they use the body’s own biological materials, these treatments are typically suitable for all skin types. During your consultation we will determine if this treatment is safe and right for you.
